Software etc

The following article found on the newsgroups refers to a software store in the Mall of Memphis. Software Etc is the only software store I remember....

While perusing through a software store in the Mall of Memphis tonight, a salesperson interrupted a conversation with the assistant manager to ask me if I needed any help. I didn't, but having seen OS/2 on the shelf, I asked him if they carried Windows NT. "No, I haven't seen NT anywhere around here," he replied.

As we turned away, I heard the assistant manager ask him softly, "What's 'Windows NT?'" The salesperson replied, "It's an operating system--sort of like OS/2." The assistant manager brightened. "Oh... okay!" My girlfriend and I walked hurriedly to the exit so our laughter wouldn't embarrass him.
